  • Health & Safety Coordinator
    Owen Sound | Administration |

    Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for providing support in the all areas of Health and Safety Coordination. The successful incumbent will work with various branch managers and the Health and Safety team to ensure safety compliance is maintained in our branches across Canada.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Verifies certifications are obtained and monitors for compliance for all employees
    • Partner with Human Resources on issues related to investigations and return to work planning.
    • Assist with managing and updating SDS
    • Participate with the JHSCs across the country
    • Assist with maintaining record/database of all hazards, near misses, work refusals etc. for reporting purposes
    • Assist with updating and maintaining a variety of health and safety compliance sites
    • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of various health and safety training programs
    • Other duties pertaining to workplace health and safety, as required

    Qualifications:

    • Post-secondary education in health and safety
    • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a health and safety role
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with ability to articulate with accuracy and detail
    • Goal oriented and customer focused with an ability to multi-task and meet goals/deadlines
    • Strong computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Strong knowledge of OHSA and WCB/WSIB a must
    • JHSC Part 1 & 2 Certification ideal
    • Familiarity with various health and safety compliance sites will be an asset

     

  • Fire Service Manager

    Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Manager to join their Victoria, BC team! In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing all branch administrative personnel, service sales staff, and field technicians.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency in scheduling, managing, and work performed by all service technicians
    • Promoting every phase of the Troy Service operation to all customer contacts
    • Keeping current in the area of product features, legislation, and regulations concerning service requirements
    • Developing service billings, service expense and service gross margin forecasts

  • Sprinkler Systems Sales & Estimator
    Winnipeg | Sales & Technical |

    Our Winnipeg branch is currently looking for a Sprinkler Service and Deficiency Sales Estimator to join our team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for pricing sprinkler deficiencies and recommendations that are generated from the service inspections performed by our skilled sprinkler fitters.

    Responsibilities:

    This position is accountable for inspection, repair, installation, verification, modification, and troubleshooting life safety systems for customers on behalf of the Company. Employees who are electricians may perform work that would normally be sub-contracted to an electrician provided they are not expected to do work for which they cannot obtain a permit.

    Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd is looking for an experienced Sprinkler Service Supervisor to join their Thunder Bay, ON team! The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for supervising the branch sprinkler field staff and ensuring they are completing their job duties efficiently while maintaining company standards.

    The Sprinkler Service Supervisor will be responsible for performing the following duties:

    • Provide technical management of the branch sprinkler service operations.
    • Management support for Contract jobs in the Thunder Bay area
    • Ensure sprinkler division staff are adhering to company policies and procedures.
    • Review all sprinkler inspection reports and quote all sprinkler deficiencies.
    • Complete sprinkler inventory management within the branch.
    • Other supervisory duties as required. 

    Experience & Qualifications

    Responsibilities:

    • Assemble, wire, test, program, and trouble shoot microprocessor based Edwards fire alarm systems
    • Produce approval and manufacturing documentation for various custom pre-configured fire alarm systems
    • Identify design problems and implement corrective action

     Qualifications:

    • CFAA considered a strong asset
    • 2 years' experience in Fire Alarm System Support or equivalent

    Our Ottawa branch is looking for an experienced Sprinkler Service Supervisor to join their team! In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing the day to day supervision of the branch Sprinkler Service Operations in the Ottawa region.

    The Sprinkler Service Supervisor will be responsible for performing the following duties:

    • Provide technical management of the branch sprinkler service operations.
    • Complete supervisory duties relating to sprinkler system sales, project management of quoted service work, as well as deficiencies and spin-offs from inspection accounts.
    • Ensure sprinkler division staff are adhering to company policies and procedures.
    • Work closely with administrative team to ensure all required information is available to field staff and that required documents including invoicing and inventory transactions are completed efficiently and accurately.
    • Work with field staff to ensure they have the training tools and information required to perform their duties safely and in accordance to company standards.

  • Preventive Maintenance Technician

    Our team is currently looking for a Preventive Maintenance Technician (II) to join their Victoria, BC team. In this role, the successful candidate will be accountable for performing limited types of service work and will be required to assist on major projects, under the supervision and assistance from a Troy Certified Service Technician.

    NATURE AND SCOPE:

    • Perform PMA, verifications, repairs, modifications, troubleshooting, training and related duties as directed on all systems excluding the programming and verification of 4010 (networked),4100 systems, and all 4010 and larger networked systems

    • Operate a laptop computer and download software to small microprocessor-based systems

    • Make programming changes (excluding 4010 (networked),4100 systems, and all 4010 and larger networked systems)

    • Perform other areas of work as required, i.e. emergency lighting, extinguishers, renovation, etc.

    • Train entry level PMT service technicians and, where falling within the PMTII technician’s abilities, customers on the job site as requested

    • Assist in other areas as assigned

    Employees who are electricians may perform work that would normally be subcontracted to an electrician provided they are not expected to do work for which they cannot obtain a permit

     

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma

    • Two (2) year community college graduate in electronics, and/or equivalent work experience
