Fire Alarm
Protecting people from the threat of fire is our strength. Our roots tie back to the original Edwards Canada Company formed in 1929. With that kind of legacy, it’s no surprise we’ve become one of Canada’s largest suppliers of Life and Fire Safety solutions. Rest assured, you’re in very experienced hands.
Our commitment to training is one more reason why thousands of customers count on us every day. Our team boasts 345 manufacturer-trained Fire Alarm Technicians in a talent pool of 1200 based in 28 offices across Canada. They provide top-notch service backed by a large inventory that includes fire products from Edwards Fire Life Safety, one of the most renowned brands in the industry.
Best in Class Service
Our Fire Alarm Technicians are monitored for technical competency by a Qualification, Training and Review (QTR) program.
To advance, Technicians must demonstrate the required level of skill and ability with a broad range of products. Skills and needs are assessed at least once a year. One-on-one instruction is provided on the job by a Supervisor, Group Leader or Senior Technician. Formal performance evaluations are completed every six months until the top level is achieved, and at least annually thereafter. Hands-on manufacturer training is provided for programming, troubleshooting and repair. Technicians must achieve a minimum proficiency level of 80% before receiving a programmers key.
In many provinces, our Fire Alarm Technicians are members of the Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) and they abide by CFAA and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. They complete annual training to maintain CFAA certification and ensure on-going technical competency.
Construction Engineers
Our fire alarm systems are designed to anticipate altered plans, so specification changes don't overtake the rate of construction. On-site modifications are possible because of minimal wiring requirements, construction-friendly terminations, reliable delivery of materials, and a simple and effective software program that allows users to take advantage of the fire alarm system's full capabilities.
Contractors
In new buildings and retrofits, deliveries are on-time and installation goes quickly. The modular fire alarm system response can be modified, often in minutes. Last minute changes are fast because of the ease of installation, electronic addressing, and the fire alarm control panel and device on-site programming capability.
Owners and Managers
You want your project completed on-time, on-budget, with reliable fire protection. With over 75 years in the Canadian life safety industry, we are uniquely positioned to help ensure your deadlines are met.
Safety Officers and Fire Marshals
A true network, our fire systems totally regenerate themselves in case of a problem. Each fire alarm control panel continually tests itself, even reporting when it needs cleaning. This makes it easier for you to keep up with changing safety regulations, perform checks and retrofits, and verify operation.
