The ideal candidate will be someone with proficient communication skills, strong typing skills, proven ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and committed to providing the best support possible to ongoing objectives of the company.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide administrative support to the Fire side of the business
    • Complete data management processes; filing and uploading documentation into ERP system
    • Assisting with reports, invoicing, inventory transactions and quotes including distribution and uploading
    • Customer service duties, including reception duties on a back-up basis
    • Accounts payable processing and other administrative tasks as required

    Qualifications:

    • Strong typing skills with excellent attention to detail
    • Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration or related field; or 3-5 years' working experience in office administration
    • Ability to multi-task and be a versatile team member
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook)

    NATURE AND SCOPE:

    • Perform, with minimum supervision, PMA, repairs as within the scope of the Accountability Objective, and related duties as directed.

    • Maintain a constantly up-to-date, neat and orderly parts inventory in service vehicle.
    • Strive to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction as well as suggesting to the customer whenever offered the opportunity, other products and services provided by the company.
    • Submit to the Company (i.e. local branch office supervisor and/or salesperson) any suggestions that might assist in increasing productivity and/or quality of work, or permit possible product modifications or redesigns.

    • Experience programming alarm systems (Edwards programming preferred)
    • Proficient in the use of computers
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record
    • Exceptional customer service skills and organizational skills

Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. is looking for a Fire Product Sales Representative to join our Ottawa, ON team. In this role, the sales representative will be responsible for maintaining and securing orders for the branch. They will provide pricing for services and products as they relate to Fire Alarm Systems and Products for assigned accounts with technical accuracy.

Job Description

  • Establish contacts with contractors, engineers and suppliers and promote the specification and sale of our products and services
  • Provide product and quotation support to sales representatives and customer service
  • Assist with quotations and provide support to existing sales personnel
  • We are looking for a "self-starter" who is comfortable both with cold-calling prospective clients and with working with our existing sales team members
  • Evaluate new product opportunities
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualification

  • 2-year Community College diploma in a related field or equivalent technical experience
  • Working knowledge of Ontario Building Code & ULC standards
  • Experience working with electrical contractors
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • 5+ years' experience in Fire Product Sales, or equal field experience
  • Possess strong computer and organizational skills
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
